Susan Harper, 80, of Willamina, Oregon passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Life Care Center in McMinnville, Oregon.
Funeral services will be provided by West Valley Funeral and held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 30 at Buck Hollow Cemetery.
Susan was married to Jody Harper. They lived in California for several years before moving to Willamina. She loved sewing and made beautiful quilts for many of those she loved. She was also a great cook and spent a lot of time in the garden. Sue was particularly fond of birds, especially hummingbirds. She would often plant flowers that were known for drawing the beautiful birds into their backyard. Sue worked for the Willamina School District where she retired after many years. She was a teacher's aid in the Learning Resource Center and touched many kids' lives. There were several times over the years when she and Joe would open their home to kids in difficult circumstances.
Susan is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her son Eric Harper, and her daughter Rhonda Harper.
Susan is survived by her son Darrell and his wife Pam Harper, her son Ron and his wife Teresa Harper, her cousin Jill Ficken who was more like a sister, and her 13 grandkids and 23 great grandkids.
Sue's family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the staff at Life Care Center of McMinnville that have cared for and become her friend over the last few years. She talked fondly of many of you. We know you created a bright spot in her life during a time when it was especially difficult for family to visit during the Covid-19 pandemic.
