Raymond Walter Meliza, was born in Gridley, CA, on August 21, 1939. His parents were Alfred Perry Meliza and Martha Louise Hoyt. Ray spent most of his growing up years in Northern, CA. Later spending time in Reno, Provo, the East Coast and eventually ended up in Salem, Oregon. He had many jobs that ranged from Bus driver, Janitor, Teacher of many subjects (one of his favorites), Graphic Designer, Insurance, Business Owner, Accident Investigator as well as Trainer and Consultant.
Ray spent his retirement years taking care of his late wife, Bobbie Meliza, who passed 3 years ago. His final years were spent at Southern Hills Assisted Living in Salem, where he was President of the Resident Council. He also lived at Brookstone Memory Care in Salem, where he passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Ray is preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara Meliza, and sons Raymond Nephi Meliza and Baron Meliza. He is survived by his children Launi Miller (spouse Rick), Glenda Rae Lowery (spouse Chris), Delight Johnson (spouse Alan), Chris Meliza (spouse Anna), Nathan Meliza (spouse Natalie) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will beheld on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:30 am. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The address is 1850 Brush College Rd NW, Salem, OR 97304. Funeral arrangements have been arranged with Macy & Son in McMinnville, OR
