Earl Harnden, born on February 9, 1944 in Loma Linda, California, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026 in his home of 37 years, surrounded by the family he cherished. His life was one marked by devotion, to his country, to his work, and to the people he loved.

A committed and steadfast man, Earl spent 24 years in the United States Navy, proudly serving as a Torpedoman Instructor. His career reflected the discipline, loyalty, and quiet strength that defined him. After retiring from the Navy, Earl and his wife, Denora, embarked on new adventures together — from driving a school bus to long‑haul trucking. They were inseparable in those years, sharing the road, the work, and a deep affection that was evident to everyone who knew them.

In his full retirement, Earl found joy in the simple beauty of home. He loved tending to the house and garden, spending long hours outside on the hillside he adored. He took special delight in watching the birds and planes pass overhead, greeting each moment with the calm appreciation of a man who understood how precious everyday life could be.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Denora; his children Holly, Bobby, and Melissa; and his grandchildren Casey, Anna, Joe, Elliot, and Autumn. His presence, his humor, and his unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A service honoring Earl’s life will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the family home in Amity.
