Jacob Cody Alexander Rentsch
May 13, 1975 - November 22, 2024
********************************* Jacob Cody Alexander Rentsch was born on May 13th, 1994. He died unexpectedly on November 22, 2024 at home in Portland, OR of an undiagnosed heart condition.
Jacob spent his growing up years on the Rentsch family property in Sheridan, Oregon. He spent hours outside with his brothers, cousins, and friends. He loved to play sports and was on soccer, football, and basketball teams.
Jacob received his associate’s degree from Chemeketa Community College and was recently working toward getting his contractor’s license.
Jacob loved to be active. He played sports, spent time outdoors, and as much time as he could snowboarding in the winter.
Jacob brought warmth, joy, and laughter everywhere he went. His smile lit up the room. Jacob was an instigator of good times, ridiculous games, and hilarious jokes or insults that somehow still made you feel loved. He would offer the perfectly crafted comeback and also a thoughtful gift, a heartfelt compliment, or the warmest hug. Jacob brought a rare and genuine sweetness to his relationships. He was thoughtful, kind, and loyal and shared that generously with those he loved. Jacob invested his time and energy in people.
The world feels a little darker without Jacob in it. His light is carried with those who were lucky enough to be loved by him.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Curtis and Rochelle Rentsch, his brothers, Nicholas Rentsch and Nathan Rentsch, his beloved niece Stella, many cousins, aunts and uncles, and countless friends. A celebration of life for Jacob will take place on January 11th, from 1 to 3 pm, at the news gym of the Faulconer- Chapman grade school. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jacobs’ name to the Brian Rentsch Memorial Foundation and donations can be deposited at any First Federal location.
