George Sidney Spelts, 76, of Grand Ronde, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at his home, with his wife Sharon of 49 years by his side.
Memorial services will be held at West Valley Funeral Home in Sheridan, Oregon on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 1:00pm.

George was born in Wray, Colorado on March 20, 1943, to Ernest and Evelyn Spelts. George left Colorado where he joined the Navy and served on the USS Midway from 1960 to 1964. He moved to Oregon, after the Navy where he resided until his death.George, alongside his wife, Sharon, lived and worked for many years in Hillsboro Oregon where they owned and operated, TransAction Transmission, before settling in Grand Ronde.

George was a well-respected and loved member of the community and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and restoring classic cars.  George is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Evelyn Spelts; his brothers Robert and Stanley Spelts and sister Velma Ekberg.George is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Jim (Judy) Barron, Ken (Cravalynn) Biamont, Tim (Cyndi) Biamont, Sidney (Robyn) Spelts and daughter Leah (David) Bibeau; sister Carol Savage; and brother, Oscar (Janice) Spelts; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family of George wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors, caregivers, and friends who have supported George and Sharon during this last year.
