Tribal elder Ruby Marie Christensen (Rife) walked on July 20, 2022, at the age of 74 in McMinnville, Oregon with family by her side.
Ruby was born on March 12, 1948 in Prineville, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beatrice Rife, sisters Marsha Bolton and Deborah Mahoney and brother Robert Rife.
She is survived by her husband David Christensen, daughter Sheila Thompson, son Willard Thompson III,brothers Steven Rife, Michael Rife and Ronald Rife and sister Pearl Rife, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Ruby was a caring Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and friend and we will never forget her unique, beautiful soul and fiery spirit.
She was a strong woman with a kind heart, and many turned to her for love and support when they were in need. She was loved deeply by her family and fiends and will be greatly missed.
She spent a large portion of her life living in Waldport, Oregon with her two children where she enjoyed gardening and her pets, including various farm animals. Later in life she moved to Grand Ronde, Oregon to live close to family and her tribe. She loved camping and spending time with her family.
Until we see you again Ruby, Dear, Grunt, Brat, Bertha. We will cherish the memories you gave us and never forget the way you loved us.
