It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Donicht, age 83, of Sheridan, Oregon.
Dennis spent many years working as a logger, a career that reflected his strength, resilience, and deep connection to the woods he loved so much. He found peace among the trees and carried that same steady, grounded spirit into his everyday life.
Above all, Dennis was a proud father to his four daughters, Becky Donicht, Elena Donicht, Amanda Long and Julie Gamez, who meant everything to him. He was not just a dad, but a constant source of love, guidance and support. He will always be remembered as the best dad - someone who showed up, worked hard and was always there for his family no matter what.
Dennis was also a loving grandfather and will be remembered as the best grandpa to his grandchildren. He cherished the time he spent with them and created memories that will be carried on for generations.
Dennis had a gift for bringing joy to others. He had a way of making people laugh and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In his free time, Dennis loved fishing, hunting, gardening and being outdoors, where he felt most at home. He especially loved his garden and his flowers, and he also had a special love for his animals. Whether casting a line, heading out to hunt, tending to his garden, caring for his animals, or simply spending time in the woods, those moments brought him true happiness.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Walter Donicht; his mother, Helen Donicht and his sister Karen Moroney.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the love he gave and the memories he created with those closest to him.
A celebration of life will be held on June 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sheridan Mennonite Church, where family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember him.
Forever loved, never forgotten.
