Roger James Birt

December 19, 1943 - August 24, 2021

Roger Birt passed on August 24, 2021 at his home. Roger was born to Ralph and Eleanora Birt on December 19, 1943. Roger lived most of his life in the local areas of McMinnville, Amity and Willamina. Roger worked in the local lumber mills for many years and then for several years at Spirit Mountain Casino until he retired.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 30 years, Rose Birt.

Roger is survived by his children Allen Birt, Candy Birt, Pam Slater, Bruce and Marion Mercier and Chrissy, Joan and Kim Payne and Terr Wright. Roger has 30 grandchildren who he loved so much. They brought a lot of joy to him. They all have some great memories of having a good time with “Grampa”. Roger also has over 30 great grandchildren who he had a fun relationship with too. Roger liked to drink coffee and have his cigarette breaks. He liked to spend time playing his video games. Not that long ago Roger and Rose could be found kayaking or riding their bicycles together. They grew some nice dinner plate dahlias too and yummy blueberries.

Roger lived his last years with his grandson David. Our Thanks to David for taking care of grampa and giving him a home and family to be with.
