Marie Quimby, aged 84, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022 with her son Craig & grandson Adam at her side in West Valley Hospital in McMinnville, Oregon due to Covid & Dementia. Marie, the youngest of 5 children, was born on July 2. 1938 in West Plains, Missouri to Elbert & Ruth Marie Burk.
In 1956 met and married Vernon Quimby in Sacramento. California and had 3 children Cheryl, Craig and Cris.
Marie survived brain surgery against all odds and lived to raise her 3 children with absolute stubbornness, strength and sheer determination after being told she would have to live in a care home for the rest of her life.
Marie loved doing crafty things that included sewing, gardening, home repair, playing piano and singing just to name a few.
In the last years of her life, her son Craig, moved her to Sheridan, Oregon to live with him and his wife Nettie from Sacramento, California
She got to spend a lot of time with her grandchildren as well as great grandchildren whom she adored.
Marie was predeceased by her siblings, Clarence Burk, Carl Burk and Norma Rector. She is survived by her 3 children, Cheryl Quimby Stevenson, Craig Quimby and Cris Quimby, 8 Grandkids, Brandon, Nicole, Danielle, Justin, Tamera, Adam, Jessica, Joshua, Timothy & 8 Great Grandkids, Alex, Colette, Elora, Isaiah, Riley, Karlee, Shaney, Ciaran and is survived by her sister Donna Hess.
Friends and Family of Cheryl Quimby Stevenson & Craig Stevenson, Craig & Nettie Quimby and Cris & Nina Quimby are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00am. Celebration of Life to follow.
