Allen Ray McCandless

June 21, 1950 - September 1, 2021

Allen Ray McCandless born June 21, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to Robert and Fran McCandless went to his heavenly home from McMinnville on September 1, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nola McCandless and five children: Larry (Rosa) McCandless of Sheridan, Oregon; Ken (Marie) McCandless of Willamina, Oregon; Darla (John) Neeway of Sheridan, Oregon; Matthew (Ashlie) McCandless of Toledo, Oregon; and Hannah McCandless of Sheridan, Oregon. They have sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Dave (Deanna) McCandless of Yerington, NV. Al is proceeded in death by his parents.

Al served in the United States Army from February 1971 to September 1972. He operated several businesses, most recently, Your Fireplace & Stove Professionals also of Sheridan, Oregon. Every 4th of July season you could find Al and family at their Fireworks stands in McMinnville.

He was passionate about his love for God and was a staunch supporter of Sheridan Baptist Church. His most recent project was the creation of the Christian Education Center (CEC) that will house the church’s school and children’s ministries.

Services will be held Monday, September 6, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Sheridan Baptist Church. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs (service will be outside). Viewing will be from 9:00 - 9:45am on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Sheridan Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Allen McCandless for the CEC building at Sheridan Baptist Church at 643 E. Main St. Sheridan, Oregon 97378.
