Rene passed away on November 25, 2022 from complications of the heart. According to his doctor, it was a large heart and those who knew him well would be inclined to agree.
He served his country, his community, mentored youths, and made every effort to ensure the comfort and well being of the family that loved him so dearly. He had a passion for learning about new technology and advancements in science, always kept a fish tank, enjoyed gardening, and taking spur of the moment day trips with his wife to the coast.
Rene is survived by his loving wife and partner of 31 years, Sandra, his children, Lydia, Christina, Jennifer and Dennis, and his two grandchildren Kiera and Fiora.
When he passed he knew he was loved and he had family to hold his hand until the very end.
He will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. It was his wish not to hold a service because, to quote him exactly, “Nobody likes a sad party”. So in his honor, we ask that you be kind to one another and live as happily as possible with the ones that you love and the time that you have.
