Richard Kennedy was born on November 13, 1946 in Denver, CO to Bill and Helen Kennedy. He departed this life at home, surrounded by loved ones on Friday, February 5, 2021.
Richard graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston, TX in 1964. He was drafted into the Air Force in 1966, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged, as Staff Sargent, in 1973 after proudly serving nearly 7 years.
After his military service, he then went on to Manpower Business Training Institute for computer programming, graduating in 1976. He worked as a programmer/analyst, including contract work, until his retirement in 2019.
He married Jill Teasley on June 5, 1971 celebrating 49 years of marriage in 2020.
He is survived by his spouse Jill, sister Debby, children Brad and Tim, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Richard loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed his video games as well as reading. He was an avid aviation enthusiast and loved watching old westerns.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Helen and his Aunt, Nan.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the West Valley Funeral Home, 108 NW Lincoln Street, Sheridan, OR. Funeral Services will also be held at the West Valley Funeral Home on Thursday @ 11:00 am. A Graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at the Green Crest Memorial Park in Sheridan.
