Carolyn Sue Vakoc
October 15, 1952 - July 8, 2021
Carolyn passed in peace on July 8, in Portland, Oregon. She was the daughter of Joseph and Nancy Parrack, who preceded her in death.
She married her loving husband, Martin Vakoc, in 1973, who also preceded her in 2003. Together they had two wonderful children who will forever cherish her.
Carolyn was a giving, caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Anyone who knew here knew she was giving, compassionate, very loyal, with a servants heart, and loved deeply. All of her life she was a very hard worker, always willing to go the extra mile.
She enjoyed much in life, with many hobbies including picking and the scent of flowers, visiting with friends and family, canning fruits and vegetables, and making jams and preserves for the winter, and for gift-giving. Shopping, cleaning, and taking naps when she could all brought her joy. Oh, and she loved her coffee, especially Dutch Bros. Carolyn was a generous person, often dropping by with small gifts specially chosen, and was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it was dog sitting, or errands for friends. She appreciated the smallest things in life, and always took time to talk with her Lord throughout her days and nights, and lived her sweet life simply and in the knowledge that one day she’d behold the Glory of God.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by her children: Jennifer Grant and husband Gordon of Santa Ana, California, and Brian Vakoc of Newberg, Oregon; her grandson Trystin Vakoc of Bowie, Texas, sisters Vicky Strasser, Laura McQuigg, and Gale Roesler, all of Central Point, Oregon, and her neighbors, friends, and former clients who all knew how very special Carolyn was. She was kind to all.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11:00am, at the Sheridan Baptist Church, 643 E. Main St. Sheridan, OR 97378.
