Irvin Wesley Brockett

January 22, 1930 - February 10, 2022

Irvin “Irv” Wesley Brockett of Grand Ronde, Oregon passed away at the age of 92 on February 10, 2022.  Irv was known to be a friend to all, took delight in caring for his animals, and remained self-sufficient until the end.  He was a very loving husband to his late wife, Sharon, and a caring grandfather.

Irv was born on January 22, 1930, in Hollister, California to Clarence Brockett and Zoretta Skaggs.  He served in the army at age 21 (1951 – 1953) when he was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War.  Irv spent most of his life working in the lumber mills and caring for his family.

He is survived by his biological children:  Jeffrey Brockett, Steven Brockett, and Gale Salinas; his stepchildren: Keith Jahn, Kathy White, Donald Jahn, Ron Jahn, Janalee Malloy, Arnold Jahn, Kathleen Palanuk, Rosemary Nelson, Rebecca Goeserich, and Suzanne Palanuk. He has many grandchildren, with Alec Palanuk, Kelly Nelson, and Shylee Mercier by his side in his final moments.

Irv’s family wishes to extend sincere thanks and great appreciation to John and Linda Fink, Joe and Claudia Theis, Vicky and Tom Aaron, and Rose and Jerry Eisele for their help, care, and love for him through the years.  These friends and neighbors have been a great blessing to us.

 A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Willamina Cemetery in Willamina, Oregon.
