Constance Marie (Chappuis) Lockwood passed away peacefully, attended by family, in the early hours of May 16, 2025. She was 98.

Connie was born on October 30, 1926 to parents Alfred and Ellen (Chavie) Chappuis in Faribault, Minnesota. She had three siblings: Maxine, Joann and Gordon.

On November 29, 1945, in Faribault, Connie married Fred L. Lockwood and moved to Grand Ronde, Oregon where they raised their 4 children Mary Ellen, Richard, Rebecca and Michael and were life-long members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Connie loved spring and summer where she would spend many happy hours outside tending to her flowers and garden. She enjoyed canning, baking bread and sharing her extra produce with family and friends. In her later years, when her eye sight became limited, she found joy in having long phone conversations with relatives and with longtime friends. Connie’s memory will be forever treasured by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings and son, Richard.

Connie is survived by her children; Mary Ellen (Clinton) Stroebel, Rebecca (Robert) Berweger, and Michael (Toni) Lockwood. 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren plus many nieces, nephews and friends.

A private family graveyard service will be held at a later date.
